The Hotel Camino de Hierro is in Camagüey, in the eastern region of Cuba. Built at the end of the 18th century, it is located in the central Plaza de La Soledad, better known as Plaza del Gallo, in the sector of the city declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity. It owes its name to the place where the main railway lines converged and it is a reminder of the importance that this means of transport had for the prosperity of Camagüey. The Camino de Hierro hotel has the longest covered terrace in the province: 45 meters. Inaugurated as a hotel in August 2011, visitors will find in the place a cultural environment full of architectural and artistic values. Beautiful vases, pleasant furniture and works by Martha Jiménez, a well-known plastic artist from Camagüey with a rich national and international trajectory, can be found there.
