In Guardalavaca

Guardalavaca is a beach located on the Atlantic coast of the province of Holguin, in eastern Cuba. It was one of the first places visited by Christopher Columbus upon his arrival on the island. During the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries it was a refuge for the corsairs and pirates of the region. Nowadays Guardalavaca has become the third tourist pole of Cuba, only behind Havana and Varadero.
