The Hotel E – Barcelona was inaugurated in 2012. It is located in San Juan de los Remedios, one of the oldest towns in Cuba, founded in 1578 and known as the cradle of what is probably the largest and oldest traditional festival. Cuban: Las Parrandas, The place in the city where you can most appreciate the antiquity and history of Remedios is in the "City Center" where the Spanish architecture of the 17th century is still preserved almost intact. The hotel is located in that area (declared a National Historical Monument in 1980), in front of the Plaza Mayor and shares its privileged location with the Hotel E Mascotte. This square is the only one in Cuba where there are two churches, one of which, the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista, is the main attraction of the city, with its thirteen altars decorated with gold.
