You can’t leave the Iberostar Holguín without:

  • Attending an evening of theatre. If you enjoy the theatre, check out the Eddy Suñol main theatre, which opened in 1939 and is considered one of the main Art-Déco buildings in Holguín. Its programme normally includes zarzuelas and other theatre genres so you’re sure to have an unforgettable evening. Raise the curtain!
  • Relaxing on the Cayo Saetía beach. This small 42 km² island lies 120 km south-east of the city of Holguín, between the bay of Nipe and the crystal-clear waters of the Atlantic. With its fine white sandy beaches, it is the ideal place to wind down, top up your tan or go for a swim.
  • Go on a trip on a catamaran. The Holguín coastline is the closest thing to Eden on Earth. The view of magical enclaves like Playa Pesquero or Playa Turquesa… from the ocean will convince you of this. Contact the hotel staff to book a catamaran excursion. You’ll love it!

The best-kept secret:

A mine of excitement. Literally. Not because of the beauty of Holguín’s beaches or the tidiness of the provincial capital, but because of its mining deposits. In fact, this place is popularly known as the land of nickel, as around 20% of its income comes from Cuban exports from the mining of this mineral.
